Introduction
The E.A.S.E project is funded under the Erasmus+ Key Action 2: Adult Education. This project is being led by the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD Malta) together with partners from various European countries. The consortium of this project includes Boarve Konsult, Puzzle Se Greece and Kypriaki Etaireia Pistopoiisi Limited Cyprus (Cyprus Certification Company).
This project started in March 2024 and will end in February 2025.
Who we are
Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD – Malta)
is the lead beneficiary in this project.
CRPD is the equality body in the disability sector in Malta.
It is the national independent mechanism of the UNCRPD
which oversees the promotion, protection and monitoring of the UNCRPD in Malta.
Boarve Konsult is a consultancy firm with more than 30 years of experience
in the field of easy-to-read, accessibility and human rights.
Boarve is working on awareness about accessible information,
increasing knowledge of accessibility and promoting human rights.
Puzzle Se Greece is a social enterprise founded by professionals
from the field of education, mental health, disability and social integration.
It aims to empower vulnerable social groups and improve their quality of life.
Kypriaki Etaireia Pistopoiisi Limited Cyprus (Cyprus Certification Company)
is a government-owned certification organisation.
CCC operates in the field of certification of persons according to the Standard ISO 17024
and certification of training programmes and curriculum.
Purpose of the project
The main objective of this project is to raise awareness of Easy Language documents
so that people with disability can make informed decisions which affect their everyday lives.
The main activities of this project are that of:
- Conducting a research on the importance of good quality Easy Language documents
and a set of guidelines on how to develop easy language document - Developing 3 certified training modules targeting service providers
on how to use the guidelines and develop Easy Language documents. - Testing the training modules through train the trainer sessions
in both Malta and Greece.
Research
CRPD and Puzzle have conducted research on the importance of Easy Language.
This research is that of a qualitative research method to identify
the importance of having good quality Easy Language documents.
Two surveys have been conducted one for persons with disability
and another for service providers.
CRPD have reach 28 respondents for the survey of service providers
whilst Puzzle have reached 20 respondents.
On the other hand for the survey of persons with an intellectual disability
both CRPD and Puzzle SE have reached 10 respondents respectively.
Two reports have been drafted one with all the data
gathered from the survey for service providers whilst
another report has been drafted on the data gathered
from the survey of persons with intellectual disability.
The main finding which emerged from both survey’s is
the need to create training programs for all staff members
in the creation of easy language documents
and to raise awareness about the importance of easy language
within the organisation and among the individuals served.
The reports will be on CRPD’s website in the coming weeks.
Coming Soon
Guidelines on how to develop Easy Language documents.
- These guidelines are being drafted by Boarve Konsult
and are based on the findings and data which emerged from the research.

and participants will be certified as trainers
on how to create easy language documents.
This training will be done in January 2025.
